Pumpkin Carving Night

A Treat for the Ferdinand Street Passers-By!

Circa 1890
The building at 11914 Ferdinand Street has been a cornerstone of St. Francisville commerce for over a century. Originally the Burgas Store, it became the Rosenthal & Wood Hardware Store and later the J. Kenneth Wood Department Store — passed down through generations of the same family. Today, District Mercantile breathes new life into these storied walls.

Some of the same equipment, fixtures, and even the glass display & check-out counter, from J.K. Wood's Department Store are still in use today at District Mercantile.
